Sixth Form Context 2020-21

Information for university and college admissions teams

There are currently 17 students on roll in Sixth Form, studying a minimum of 3 x A Level subjects. The Sixth Form opened in September 2019. Most of our students are aiming to go to university in the UK, Europe or the USA.
In response to COVID-19, our school closed, following the Moroccan government's guidelines, on 13th March 2020. Our students did not return to on-campus learning until 5th October 2020. The completion of a full set of mock exams in March was disrupted due to students not being on campus.
Throughout the period of enforced closure, the focus of remote learning via a range of virtual teaching tools, was to encourage students to stay engaged in academic activities and to reinforce learning on a daily basis. During this time not all students had equitable access to home learning, which has inevitably impacted on student experience.
Whilst we provided online lessons for students, our planned programme of careers and university information, advice and guidance was significantly disrupted. Land, air and sea borders were closed (and still remain restricted) so students could not attend any university open days. A number of university fairs we had planned with UK and European universities here in school had to be cancelled.
