“Here’s looking at you…”
In the wonderful 1942 film that shares its name with our city, Rick (Humphrey Bogart) asks Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman)
“Of all the places in all the world, why did you have to walk into mine…?”
Thinking of that line makes me think of the question you probably want to ask us:
“Of all the schools in Casablanca, why would you want to choose ours?”
Let me try to explain, at least to encourage you to take the next step, which is to come and visit us, to see for yourself.
We think we have something extraordinary happening in education in our school.
Our plan is to be the leading school offering a British style of international education, not only in Casablanca but in our region of North Africa.
We became the first British international school in Morocco to receive accredited British School Overseas (BSO) status through inspection by the prestigious Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in December 2019, an inspection that was further quality-assured by the UK’s Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED).
In January 2020, we announced a new strategic partnership with Reigate Grammar School, one of the UK’s leading independent schools, with a 350-year history of educational excellence and service to the community. Together, we plan to develop a series of British international schools in North Africa that replicate the success we have achieved in Casablanca.
Since we opened in 2017, we have used the Cambridge International Curriculum throughout our school. This rigorous approach to learning aligns the school with the standards of the National Curriculum of England. Through the formal examinations of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at age 16 and Advanced (A) Level at age 18, we prepare our pupils to apply to the leading universities of the English-speaking world – the United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The ‘A’ Level examinations that pupils take will also prepare them for entry to Moroccan institutions of higher education.
We are not unique in using the Cambridge International Curriculum, of course. We are unique, though, in the British ethos we have created in our school, through the exceptional qualities of our teachers, almost all recruited from the very best British international, independent and state schools. We have a smart school uniform, a house system, outstanding pastoral care, a commitment to courtesy and discipline throughout – in short, all the qualities and standards that you would associate with the best of British education.
Above all, we make learning FUN! Our school shows that you can, like Harry Potter’s Hogwarts, create the magic formula of a school that is exciting and enjoyable to be in but also achieves terrific results, great social development and excellent community spirit.
I hope I have started to reply to our version of Rick’s Casablanca question! We are waiting for you with the answer to your educational needs right now!
