The British International School Casablanca is an international school that teaches the British National Curriculum and in particular the International curriculum designed by Cambridge University along with the Moroccan National Curriculm. This leads to the taking of IGCSE exams and the IB Diploma in the Senior and Upper Schools. This will enable our pupils to be successful at the world's best universities.
Emphasis is placed on developing the whole child. This leads to confident, friendly and well-mannered children who appreciate their own talent, be it in sports, arts or the classroom. The syllabus covers all the main UK topics including English, Maths, ICT, Science, French, History, Geography, Art, Music, Drama, Sport, Citizenship, and Swimming.
There is also teaching by specialist teachers. Drama, French, Arabic, music, swimming and sports take advantage of these; giving children the opportunity to tread the boards or compete against other schools. Religious education, PSHE and citizenship also play a large part in the fabric of our curriculum.
Mathematics is an important part of the curriculum and is covered every day. Children are exposed to a wide range of mathematical concepts, and are taught a range of approaches to calculations and the use of apparatus to support their computations. Emphasis is placed on understanding mathematics, and then applying this understanding to real-life situations and mathematical problems.
English is also taught every day. Phonics is the basis of our approach to teaching reading and writing, giving children greater confidence to tackle a range of texts. They are introduced to a wide range of reading materials and their writing activities have meaning and purpose. Sentence structure and grammar are important aspects of the programme of study and good presentation underpins all work. Children are encouraged to read at school and books are sent home for parents and children to enjoy together. We also have an extensive library in which we encourage a love of books via our excellent library staff.

Measuring Progress through the Cambridge curriculum.
Through the Cambridge curriculum enriched by our Moroccan context, the British International School of Casablanca prepares students for the 21st Century world and enables them to develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.
In the Early Years we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum which is specially designed for children aged 3-5.
It ensures that each child is learning through high quality play-based activities, enabling the children to develop at their own pace, to have fun, make friends and learn as they play. In this way the children will become confident, inquisitive learners who, when the time comes, are well prepared for school.
In order to best suit our students at BISC, education specialists have devised a curriculum that is unique. We are proud to say that no other school in the country has a curriculum quite like ours.
With our professional and highly trained staff, personality, learning styles and the individual needs of our children are taken into consideration, with differentiated work in each classroom, resulting in exceptional progress for all.

In our school library, we make sure that our students have access to different books and resources, and that they can have a great time while doing that. Our job is to facilitate the teacher’s work inside the classroom by making the library a good place for teaching and learning, not only that but also to make reading books an enjoyable activity for the kid.
